- Holotype: SAF Mabian-003, adult ♂, skin with cleaned skull, collected by Shaoying Liu on 15 April 2000.
- Type locality: “Mabian Dafengding National Nature Reserve, eastern side of Dafengding Mountain, Mabian County, southwestern Sichuan Province, 221.5 km west and 80 km south of Chengdu City (straight-line distance), 28°42′26″N, 103°19′31″E, elevation 2,560 m”.
