    • Polysiphonia simpliciuscula P.Crouan & H.Crouan, 1852
      • Type locality: Anse du Minou, Finistère, France.
      • Lectotype: PC 0581971 (Diaz-Tapia et al. 2014: 202, fig. 2). Notes: Womersley (2003: 337) cites the holotype in Herb. Crouan, CO, and isotype (Crouan 302) in PC. As Diaz-Tapia et al. found no specimens in the Crouan brothers' Herbarium (CO but temporarily in PC), they selected a lectotype in the herbarium of Thuret.
