- Notes: Womersley (2003: 366) designated a lectotype from Cumana, Venezuela (Moritz 142), in MEL 672271. "However, Venezuela is not mentioned in the protologue, and the type is more likely to be the Leprieur specimen from the Antilles in L. Womersley's selection of a Venezeulan lectiotype specimen in MEL is inexplicable." Algaebase
