  • Type locality: "Peach creek", near College Park, south of College Station, Texas, USA.
  • Holotype: Franklyn D. Ott; 1976; Small muddy stream; National Science Museum (Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan; TNS-AL 161062. Resin-embedded material of strain RT. The culture has been deposited as UTEX 2804 in the Culture Collection of Algae at the University of Texas at Austin.
