• Type locality: Göttingen, Germany.
• Lectotype (designated by Darienko & Pröschold 2017): Plate 11 (XI, errorneously cited as 9) (fig. 4–6) in Gerneck 1907.
• Epitype (designated by Darienko & Pröschold 2017): strain SAG 2008, permanently cryopreserved in a metabolically inactive state (cryopreserved in liquid nitrogen), SAG, University of Göttingen, Germany.
