Name

Piqueriinae Benth. & Hook.f., Gen. Pl. [Bentham & Hooker f.] 2(1): 165, 172. (1873)

Type genus: Piqueria Cav., Icon. [Cavanilles] 3: 18. (1795) [dt. 1794; issued Apr 1795]

Note: Tippery et al. (2014) expanded the tribe to include the North American genera Carphochaete, Cronquistia and Revealia. However, these genera are still usually accepted as being a synonymy with Carphochaete having precedence (Turner, 1987).
