• Type locality: El-Farafra Oasis, in vicinity of Bir Sitta, 27°04'50"N, 27°55'17"E.
• Holotype: subsurface arid soil; 70.71 m a.s.l.. Ain Shams Univ., Bot. Dept., Phycol. Sect. CAIA SA-1704 (permanent slide). Isotype: permanent slide TR cLIM009 FITB 1030 at MUSE.
