Type: A.M.F. Palisot de Beauvois s.n. (in flower; Holotype: P [P00300335^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}]; Isotypes: G [G00014628 (83645/1)^(JSTOR)], G-DC [G00666759 (83645/2)], P [P00300336^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}]).
Type locality: [Nigeria.] Royaume d'Oware, dans l'intérieur des terres, entre la ville d'Oware et Buonopozo.
