• Typus: S.H. Shabani 1015 ([10 May 1973]; holotypus: K [​K000287360]; isotypus: EA [not seen by Bridson]).
• Type locality: Tanzania. Iringa District: Mufindi, near Lake Ngwazi, 1300–1800 m.
