- Pavetta brownii var. glabra Bremek., Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 37: 125 (1934); not accepted by Reynolds (1993: 37) [cited as Pavetta brownii var. brownii]
  - Typus: R. Brown 3451 pro parte ([December 1802]; holotypus: K000763465^(JSTOR)).
    - Note: collections deposited in BM (BM001040287^(JSTOR), at least) and NSW (NSW193879^(JSTOR)) have been determined as P. brownii var. glabrata by Reynolds (1993: 38).
  - Type locality: AUSTRALIA. Gulf of Carpentaria.
