Note: Once synonymized with P. klotzschiana K.Schum. by Bridson (1978: 620), but then reinstated by Bridson (2001).
Types:
- Holotype: W.C.H. Peters s.n. (; in flower; B [destroyed]).
- Neotype: Menyhart 875 (K [designated by Bridson 2001: 578]; cf. A 02455326^(GBIF) [ex WU, without type indication]).
Type locality: Mossambique [= MOZAMBIQUE].
- Holotype†: In der steinig-sandigen Umgebung von Tette [= In the stony and sandy vicinity of Tete].
- Neotype: Tete Province: Boroma (Boruma).
