- Type locality: Gandersha, Somalia.
- Holotype: G. Sartoni; 27 January 1982; On Amphiroa fragilissima (Linnaeus) J.V. Lamouroux growing on the inshore side of the reef. FT Sartoni 11/010a. (The holotype preparation includes male, female or carposporangial and tetrasporangial individuals). Isotype: LTB 18056.
