Name
editOxypetalinae E.Fourn. in Mart. (ed.), Fl. Bras. 6(4): 193. (1885)
- Type genus: Oxypetalum R. Br., Asclepiadeae 30. (1810) nom. cons.
Note: Endress et al. (2014) placed both Morrenia Lindl., Edwards's Bot. Reg. 24, Misc.: 71 (1838) and Widgrenia Malme, Kongl. Svenska Vetenskapsakad. Handl. II, 34(7): 69, t. 2, f. 4 (1900) in this subtribe, but they have now been placed in synonymy (Liede-Schumann & Meve, 2015 & Rapini et al., 2011). The monotypic genera Kerbera E.Fourn., Fl. Bras. (Martius) 6(4): 290. (1885) and Schistonema Schltr., Bot. Jahrb. Syst. 37(5): 604. (1906) are tentatively placed here by Rapini et al. (2011) pending further analysis, but are both missing from Endress et al. (2014).
