- Nauclea purpurascens var. latifolia (Korth. ex Miq.) Havil., J. Linn. Soc., Bot. 33: 59 (1897), pro syn. sub Nauclea nicobarica Havil. [= Neonauclea excelsa (Blume) Merr.]

Ridsdale (1989: 211) also placed Nauclea grashoffii Valeton ex K.Heyne, Nutt. Pl. Ned.-Ind., ed. 2, 2: 1394 (1917), nom. nud. here, but Govaerts (2003) treats that name as an unplaced name.
