Typus: BSIP 8739 [I.H. Gafui et al.] ([22 January 1968]; holotypus: K [fide Ridsdale 1970 & 1989]; isotypi: L 0000955 [lost by boatwreck in the Azores during loan, see Ridsdale 2008: 288], SUVA [ex BSIP, see Consortium of Pacific Herbaria record]).
Type locality: Solomon Islands. [New Georgia Islands: Solomon Islands Shoulder Hill Area, North Kolombangara.]
