    - Note: K herbarium holds a specimen with annotations of both Versteeg 1032 and Branderhorst 438 (K000729940^(JSTOR)).

    - Lectotypus: [INDONESIA.] Südwest-Neu-Guinea am Noord-Fluss [= southwestern New Guinea on Noord River].

Among the specimens cited by Ridsdale (1970), those from Morotai, viz. Kostermans 866 and Kostermans 1350 are of Neonauclea morotaiensis Ridsdale, the latter being its type.
Example of occurrences in Maluku: bb 24523 (Ned. Ind. Forest Service) (collected on Aru Is., 20 June 1938; deposited in L.2937860).
Example of occurrence in Papua New Guinea: L.J. Brass 6955 (collected near Palmer River, 2 miles below junction Black River, along banks of river, June 1936; deposited in BRI [vide Plants of Papua New Guinea], L.2937857).
