- Typus: Holtz 1720 (in flower and fruit, April 1907; holotypus: B, destroyed).
- Type locality: [Tanzania.] Bezirk von Ukami mit dem Uluguru-Gebirge: beim Bezirksamt Morogoro in den trockenkahlen, teilweise geschlossenen Gehölzen der Uluguru-Vorberge, sowie im geschlossenen immergrünen Gebirgswald an lichteren Stellen.
