Sooretamys angouya (G. Fischer, 1814)

Holotype: not assigned; based on Azara's (1801: 86) "Rat troisie`me, ou Rat Angouya."

Neotype: UMMZ 124201, adult ♂, skin, skull with intact dentition, and body in alcohol. [designed by Musser, Carleton, Brothers & Carleton (1998: 300)]

Type locality: not assigned; “Paraguay east of the Río Paraguay, Departamento de Misiones, 2.7 km (by road) N of San Antonio”, based on neotype designation by Musser, Carleton, Brothers & Carleton (1998: 300).
