- Holotype: fish pond. Culture Collection of Algae and Protozoa, Oban, Scotland, cryopreserved material of strain CCAP 222/96.
- Isotype: B40 0040722 (air-dried and formaldehyde-fixed sample of strain CCAP 222/96), Botanical Museum at Berlin-Dahlem.
