- Type locality: Beaufort Sea (71° 24' N, 132° 40' W).
- Holotype: D. Vaulot, 2009-08-15. Strain RCC2306 preserved in a metabolically inactive state (cells embedded in resin for electron microscopy), deposited at the RCC.
