• Typus: H. Kennedy 2523 (in fruit, [20–21 February 1973]; Holotypus: MO-194229 (2158953)^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}).
• Type locality: Panama. Panamá: 19 km above Pan-Am. Hwy. on road from El Llano to Cartí Tupile.
