• Typus: A.C. Smith 6442 (in flower, 3 November 1947; holotypus: A-A00065168; isotypi: BISH-BISH1001737, BRI-AQ0022884, K-K000780109, L-L0019096, LE-LE00013695, NY-NY00004508, P(-MNHN-P-P00835865, mirror), S-G-3940, US-US00001099-1966659).
• Type locality: FIJI. Vanua Levu. Mathuata[Macuata] province: east of Lambasa[Labasa], on the southern slopes of Mt Numbuiloa.

Notes

Knaap-van Meeuwen (1970: 38) regarded this taxon as synonymous with Maniltoa yokotai (≡ Cynometra yokotae), but Radosavljevic (2019) does not accept such a view.
