Type: W.J.O.O. de Wilde & B.E.E. de Wilde-Duyfjes 14469 ([3] February [1975], in flower; Holotype: L [cf. L.2266188 (L 0686826)^(GBIF), lacking type indication apart from determination slip left by Kostermans in 1988]; Isotypes: BO {BO-0103235^(GBIF), BO-0103236^(GBIF)}, K).
Type locality: [Indonesia.] Sumatra: N. Sumatra, Aceh, Leuser Nature Reserve, Ketambe, valley of Lau Atlas, near tributary of Lau Ketambe, c. 35 km NW of Kutacane, 300–400 m alt., lowland tropical rain forest.

Mangifera foetida auct. non Lour.: Ding Hou, Fl. Males., Ser. 1, Spermat. 8(3): 435 (1978), pro parte; Ding Hou, Identific. List: 57 (1979), quoad de Wilde 14435.
