Name

edit

Solanum neorickii D.M.Spooner, G.J.Anderson & R.K.Jansen Amer. J. Bot. 80(6): 683 (1993), nom. nov. pro Lycopersicon parviflorum

  • Holotype: Ochoa 1071 (Unknown herbarium)
    • The number is incorrectly given as Ochoa 1017 in the protologue, and the location of the holotype is unknown, as Ochoa's herbarium was dispersed, but CUZ is a likely location (Peralta & al., 2008:125). Material referred to this specimen in some later publications (e.g. Peralta & Spooner, Monogr. Syst. Bot. Missouri Bot. Gard. 104:232; 2018) has usually been grown from seeds of Ochoa 1071 (in this case, accession LA0247 of the C.M. Rick Tomato Genetics Resource Center at UC Davis).
  • Type locality: Peru. Huánuco: Prov. Dos de Mayo, Chavinillo, 2100 m, 18 Mar 1951.
