Lithodes chaddertoni
lithodes chaddertoni is a species of king crab from the family lithodidae. [1]they are found in southwestern Australia, [2] they are found at depths of 894-1,701 meters (2933.07-5580.7087ft). they are the most strongly spinose lithodid of all lithodes species in Australia.[3] with spines measuring up to 0.87 in pcl and rostral length.[4]
Appearance
editthis species resembles Lithodes jessica. it has very long spines, with deep red colour.[5] they have a maximum carapace length of 190.1 mm (7.48 in) and a carapace width of 89.9 mm (3.54 in).[6]
Etymology
editit was named after honour John Chadderton after he took the specimen.[7]
