Note: This is a traditional view of a monotypic Linnaea rejecting the proposal by Christenhusz (2013) to subsume all genera of Linnaeoideae into this genus. Wang et al. (2015) point out that Linnaeoideae, as circumscribed here, is composed of monophyletic units, which are best kept segregated on the grounds of morphology, biogeography and nomemclatural stability (Govaerts, 2020 cf. Hassler, 2020).
