Lignoscripta atroalba B.D.Ryan & T.H.Nash, 2004

Etymology: Refering to the apothecia: atrus (Latin, a lusterless black) and albus (Latin, white); for white pruina.

Type: U.S.A. Arizona: Apache Co.: Carrizo Mountains, canyon east of Pastora Peak, 2250 m, on dead juniper, Nash 9092 (holotype in ASU!)

Life habit: Lichenized.

Substrate and ecology: On old wood (e.g., juniper), usually in pinyon-juniper communities, at moderate to high elevations (to 3170 m in Utah).
