  - Type: F.M. Welwitsch 1314 (in flower, April 1856; Lectotype: BM [BM000799818^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}, designated by Bouka Dipelet et al. 2017: 17]).
    - Note: BM, COI, G, K, LISU, M, P and PRE hold further specimens of the apparently same collection, but Bouka Dipelet et al. (2017) regard all of them as syntypes.
  - Type locality: Angola. Mountains of Queta.
