  • Type locality: République Centrafricaine [The Central African Republic]. Territory of the Ubangi (basin of the Haut Ombella, 'Pays des Mbrous').

Khaya kissiensis, nom. nud. is based on the following two specimens: A. Chevalier 20687 (MNHN-P-P00528032; GUINEA. Around the Kissi, Doudou, 5 February 1909) and A. Chevalier 23774 (MNHN-P-P00453227; BENIN. Around Savalou, Cabolé, in an islet of forest, 27 May 1910).
