[[1]]J. Fernando Márquez-Farías, Mexican ichthyologist.
J. Fernando Marquez-Farias, PhD is a Mexican National researcher assigned to the National System of Researchers since 2007. He has been developing as a research professor at the Marine Science Faculty of the Sinaloa's Autonomous University.
Dr. Marquez-Farias has also served as Regional Deputy Director of the Regional Fisheries Research Center of the National Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture in Mazatlán, Sinaloa and as official researcher at the Regional Fisheries Research Center of the same institute in Guaymas, Sonora. Both Northwestern states of Mexico.
He is a member of the American Fisheries Society and the American Elasmobranch Society and part of the Shark Specialist Group of the IUCN. He has also been a consultant for several non-governmental organizations.
