• Typus: W. Roxburgh s.n. (lectotypus: LINN [Herb. Smith 191.2^(JSTOR)], designated by Turner 2013: 158).
  • Note: until this lectotypification, several authors (e.g. Chantaranothai 2021) have regarded Roxburgh's drawing in Wight, Icon. Pl. Ind. Orient., t. 186 (1840) as type.

Some authors have recognized its occurrence also in Singapore, but K.M. Wong in Wong et al. (2019: 230, 232) regards them as misidentifications of Pavetta wallichiana Steud. ex Craib.
