Typus: Finlayson s.n. (Holotypus: K [K001123205^(JSTOR)]; Isotypus: LE 00017478^(JSTOR)).
Type locality: "East Indies"[Thailand. Bangkok, undoubtedly from a cultivated plant (vide Chamchumroon 2006)].

Notes

General distribution range given by Chamchumroon (2006) is as follows: India, Indo-China (including Thailand). He remarks this species is used as an ornamental flowering shrub so frequently that the range may not be natural range.
