- Typus: C.M.G. Creagh s.n. (holotypus: K [cf. K000763324(JSTOR), 'unknown type material']).
- Note: Fraser 221 (collected in Banggi; deposited in K), one of the paratypes, was later re-determined as Ixora fucosa by Bremekamp (1937).
- Type locality: [Malaysia.] Sandakan, Port Myburgh, East Coast, Tanjong Batu.
