Holotype: Venezuela, Mérida: Mucuy, elev. 2200 m, on rock on trail above fish hatchery. M. E. Hale 43030, (US; isotype in MERF)..

Locality: Venezuela

Substrate and ecology (Sonoran region): On acidic rocks, frequently with a layer of detritus between the specimen and the rock in montane regions.
