  • Lectotype locality: Bahia State, Brazil.
  • Lectotype: LD herb. Ag. 33878, Sphaerococcus spinellus var. laxior, "In litore maris prope Bahian, legit et misit Martius" (Haroun et Prud'homme van Reine (1993: 122).
