Isotypes PC, Howe no. 4023, General Herbarium box collection (non-fossil; filed in non-geniculate coralline type collections cabinet under basionym); TRH, Howe 4023, includes three slides also numbered 4023; BM, algal box collection 925. According to Penrose in Womersely (1996: 264): lectotype in TRH (no. 4023); designated by Adey in Adey & Lebednik 1967: 20; illustrated by Penrose (1990: fig. 37A-E).
