• Holotype locality: "Hole in the Wall" shelf edge, off La Parguera, Puerto Rico.
• Holotype (bisporophytes): H. Ruiz; 5 May 2009; ca. 50 m, on corals. MSM (unnumbered) Notes: Holotype: Athanas.PR-135A. Isotypes: in GB (Athanas. PR-135B); in US (Athanas. PR-135C); in herb. Athanas. (PR-135D).
