Diagnosis: Heiomasia sipmanii isidibus cilindricibus et acidum 5-hydroxy-4-O-demethylnotaticum et acidum 4-Odemethylnotaticum continente differt.
Type: U.S.A. Florida: Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park, Janes Scenic Drive, 6.5 mi NNW of ranger station at gate 12 along old tram road; 26o00'31" N, 81o24'41" W; Taxodium-Sabal hardwood hammock, on tree trunk in shaded understory; III. 2009, Lücking & Rivas Plata 26850 (F, holotype); ibid., Nelsen s.n. (F, paratype).
Etymology: Heiomasia seaveyorum is dedicated to Rick and Jean Seavey (Seavey Field Guides) for their contributions to vegetation science in North and Central America and their work on Florida lichens.
