Typification Details: Holotype NY, Hansen et al. 3791


Host-Substratum/Locality: On bark of Pinus cembroides: México

Diagnosis: Thallus epiphloedes, rimosescens. Excipulum continuum infra hypothecium in sectio media, rubellum -fuscum transiens stipite infra. Hypothecium atrofuscum ca. 50 µm profundum; hymenium ca. 100 µm altum. Asci 2-spori; sporae 3-septatae ubi maturae; paries atropigmentifera, foveatae (x 1,250), non curvae.

Type: MEXICO. Tamaulipas. Sierra Madre Oriental, just north of summit on Hwy. 101, 23o15'N, 99o37'W, on Pinus cembroides in low forest of Quercus, Pinus cembroides and Juniperus, 2,000 m, 21 March 1976, Hansen et al. 3791 (NY, holotype)
