Diagnosis: Gyalectidio eskuchei thallo areolato differt.

Type: U.S.A. Lousiana. East Baton Rouge Parish: Miller Property, Baton Rouge, 0.25 mi SE of LSU campus on Highland Road, abundant on Camellia leaves, 24 Jul 1991, Tucker 30921 (LSU, holotype; F, NY, PH, isotypes).
