Jan Frederik Gronovius

Jan Frederik Gronovius (10 February 1686 – 10 July 1762), also known as Johann Frederik Gronovius and Johannes Fredericus Gronovius, was a Dutch botanist born in Leiden, notable as a patron of Carolus Linnaeus. He was the son of Jakob Gronovius and grandson of Johann Friedrich Gronovius, both classical scholars. His son Laurens Theodore Gronow (1730–1777) was also a naturalist.
