Gastrochilus japonicus (Makino) Schltr., Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 12: 315 (1913).

• Type locality: Japan: Mt. Honokawa, Yoshinaga and Nanokawa.
• Holotype: Tomitarô Makino, s.n.; Watanabe, s.n., MAK.
