• Type locality: desert soil surface, Sevilleta LTER, Socorro Co., New Mexico, USA (34°12'43.5"N, 106°45'28.5"W)
• Holotype: CONN 00181061 (permanent slide of strain BCP-SEV3-VF49).
• Iconotypes: fig. 1C (Lewis & Flechter, 2004) and fig. 7 (Sciuto et al., 2015).
