Native, warm-season, perennial, erect, hairless to woolly herb to 60 cm tall. Leaves at the base of the plant die early. Stem leaves are narrow-lanceolate to oblong and to 12 cm long. Flowerheads have 1-16 yellow heads; the inner flowers in individual heads are tubular, while the outer flowers are petal-like and 3-lobed. Flowering is from spring to autumn. Found in well-drained areas of woodlands and native grasslands. Native biodiversity. Doesn’t appear to be grazed by stock. Generally only found in ungrazed to very lightly grazed pastures; declines with increasing grazing pressure.
