Summary

Description

This is a scan from a 35mm transparency which I took in c. 2000 at a private garden in Essex, England. It shows a "poculiform" snowdrop of the species Galanthus plicatus, in which poculiform plants are extremely rare. It is an unusual flower formation, in which all six segments – the inner and outer "petals" – are the same length (and white, instead of being marked with green or yellow). A normal flower can be seen in the background. This scan is in the Public Domain (however, I retain ownership and copyright of the original transparency and any higher-resolution scans derived from it).
