Fritillaria pluriflora—adobe lily. Included in the CNPS Inventory of Rare and Endangered Plants on list 1B.2 (rare, threatened, or endangered in CA and elsewhere). This specimen was collected in Bear Valley, Colusa County. It is blooming a few weeks early this year. The late Wayne Roderick, second director of the Regional Parks Botanic Garden and one of the great bulb enthusiasts of the 20th Century, said one should visit Bear Valley on March 25 of each year to see the greatest display of adobe lilies in California. Photographed at Regional Parks Botanic Garden located in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley, CA
