DescriptionJ20150716-0110—Cylindropuntia californica var californica—RPBG (19712448119).jpg
Cylindropuntia californica var. californica—snake cholla. Included in the CNPS Inventory of Rare and Endangered Plants on list 1B.1 (rare, threatened, or endangered in CA and elsewhere). Known only from Point Loma and a few other locations in and around San Diego. Equally endangered in northern Baja Californa. It's unfortunate that this cactus chose to grow in an area attractive to development. Photographed at Regional Parks Botanic Garden located in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley, CA.
