Description Calicium viride Persoon, 1794 (photograph of a herbarium specimen taken through a dissecting microscope (x25) showing the yellow thallus, black stalks and black capitula) This specimen was in Dr. Elmer G. Worthley's personal lichen herbarium and the label on the packet reads as follows:"Flora Fennica/ Ex Herb. Univ. Ouluensis/ Calicium viride Pers./ Savonia borealis: Pielavesi, W-Säviä, Alava, in pariete horrei prope riv. Matopuro/ 16. XI. 1960/ leg. Kalle Huuskonen"; (No. L-413, 16 Nov 1960); specimen is now in the Lichen Herbarium of the New York Botanical Garden.
