Note: Taylor (2012) placed this name under Faramea macrura Standl., but she has regarded this name as a distinct taxon since 2017.
Typus: M.E. Terry & R.A. Terry 1479 (in flower, 10 March 1940; Holotypus: F [V0092397F (1034536)^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}]; ⧼Isotypi⧽: BKL [BKL00000392], MO-316974 (1196542)^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}).
Type locality: Panama. Darién: Chepigana District, Cana-Cuasi trail, Camp 2, alt. 600 meters.
