- Typus: M.E. Terry & R.A. Terry 1479 (in flower, 10 March 1940; Holotypus: F [V0092397F (1034536)(GBIF, JSTOR)]; ⧼Isotypi⧽: BKL [BKL00000392], MO-316974 (1196542)(GBIF, JSTOR)).
- Type locality: Panama. Darién: Chepigana District, Cana-Cuasi trail, Camp 2, alt. 600 meters.
