Typus: A. Jahn 159 (in flower and fruit, October 1912; Holotypus: US [US00132326 (602354)^{(CRIA, GBIF, JSTOR)}]; Isotypus: VEN [fide Diazgranados 2012, but not seen by him]).
Type locality: Venezuela. State of Trujillo: Páramo de las Rosas, at an altitude of 3,200 meters.
